Today’s read at bedtime was Mama Appleseed’s absolute favourite @juliadonaldson book- (even better than the Guffalo!) It’s a highly under-rated book. The story has substance not always found in young children’s books. The illustrations are so rich and its also extremely funny. The rhyming tale A Squash and a Squeeze is full of hilarious moments but also an important lesson.
At age 3 Incy is still learning to read. Her way of reading by herself is to tell the story through the pictures. The gorgeous illustrations by the talented @axel.scheffler help Incy tell an adorable version of the story. Towards the end of the book she always adds the animals were grumpy about being put back outside 😅
Incy also has a A Squash and a Squeeze sticker and activity book. She has spent hours completing the puzzles on each page and exploring the story in a different way.
